Use this guide if you want to know whether you can leave your car parked at a charger after your session has finished. The short answer is that it depends on the site, so there are two things to check: any idle fee, and the site's parking rules.
Some sites apply an idle fee once your car has finished charging but stays connected, to keep the bay free for others. Whether one applies, and how much, is set per site by the charger operator.
✓ Check the charger listing before you plug in
The Wevolt App shows the site's pricing, including any idle fee and the maximum charge time, on the charger listing. Check it before you start so there are no surprises.
For how idle fees work, see What are Idle Fees on Wevolt?
Charging bays are intended for vehicles that are actively charging. Where you can, it is good practice to move your car once it is full so the next driver can use the bay, especially at busy sites with only one or two chargers.
At some sites, such as commuter park-and-ride carparks at train stations, leaving your car for the day is common and often expected. Even so, the parking rules for the carpark itself are set by the site operator, not by Wevolt.
Parking rules are set by the site operator
Whether you can park for an extended period is governed by the site's own parking rules and signage, not by Wevolt. Check the signage at the bay, and if you are unsure, the site operator is the best point of contact. You can find them under Help on the charger listing in the app.
