Use this guide if your car is charging more slowly than a Type 2 (AC) charger's advertised power. In most cases this is completely normal, and it comes down to your car rather than the charger.
An AC charging session runs at the lower of two limits: what the charger can deliver, and what your car's onboard charger can accept. The slower of the two sets your speed.
AC charging passes through your car's built-in onboard charger, which converts AC to DC for the battery. Its maximum is set by the carmaker, not by Wevolt. Common limits:
So a 22 kW Wevolt charger only delivers 22 kW to a car that can accept 22 kW. A car capped at 7.4 kW will draw about 7.4 kW on that same charger. That is expected behaviour, not a fault.

Energy added is roughly power multiplied by time. At 7.4 kW you gain about 7.4 kWh per hour, which is around 40 to 50 km of range for many EVs.
On DC (CCS) chargers the charger feeds the battery directly, so the rate depends on the charger's maximum, your car's maximum DC rate, and your battery's charge level and temperature. DC speeds naturally taper as the battery fills, which is normal.
If your car normally charges faster on AC elsewhere but is unusually slow at one specific charger, or slower than your car's known limit, it may be a charger or site issue.
